It seems like I’m on a roll with posting about breakfast, but I just have so many clients that really struggle with breakfast – either frequently skipping it or starting the day off with a sugary breakfast that leaves them craving sugar the rest of the day. So I thought I’d share a list of recipes for some of my favorite healthy and relatively quick breakfasts. Some of the recipes like pancakes or egg bake, can be cooked ahead and reheated quickly in the morning. Pancakes freeze well and can be reheated in the microwave.
You’ll notice that all of these options have protein and healthy fats. Protein and fat will help keep you feeling full and satisfied, instead of hungry an hour later the way high carbohydrate/sugar breakfasts do. You’ll also notice, that with the exception of a small amount of maple syrup (we’re talking 1 teaspoon max) for flavor, there is no added sugar in these breakfasts.

Oatmeal with plain yogurt, nuts, and a drizzle of maple syrup
Hoppin’ John from Cookus Interruptus
